Red Tees for the over 75's

The Committee is aware that there have been unfavourable comments from some members about this rule. This rule was put into place to help some of our older members re-gain their enthusiasm for golf and to give them a more realistic chance to compete. After lengthy discussion and considering various options, the Committee has decided the following:

The rule that over 75’s can elect to play from the red tees will stand, under the following conditions:

·         If an eligible player elects to play off the red tees, he will commit himself to play all holes and all competitions from the red tees and cannot swap between yellow and red tees.

·         By electing to play from the red tees, the player will restrict himself to play in the CBGS competitions at Bonalba and the Society Away-Days, but cannot qualify for the Ford League, the Costa Blanca Inter-League Matches or any other outside competition representing the CBGS, as these competitions will all be played from the yellow tees.

·         Once a player opts to play from the red tees, there will be an immediate reduction of his handicap by two shots.
