This Wednesday we competed for the December Medal. With more rain during the week, we were
relieved to see the sun coming through and making it ideal conditions for a
pleasant round of golf. We had a full
house with 39 members and one guest, Jean-Claude.
The recent rain had left its mark on the course and everybody struggled
to play their best. Quite a few strokes
were lost on the greens as they turned out to be very slow and despite strong
putting strokes, the ball was still short on many occasions. The difficult conditions were reflected in
the results with the winning score of three over par and a net 77 would place
you in the top 5. Congratulations to the
winning five. Unfortunately, Jan
narrowly missed out on the prizes. Although
she also scored a net 77, she was beaten by Nino with a better back 9.
Our Captain reminded us that next week is “Christmas Present Day” and every
participant should bring a present, suitably wrapped, of around €10. And after the prize giving there will be a
lunch celebrating Christmas at the Bonalba Hotel.

There
were 3 twos today. On hole 8 it was Pascale Leroux and James Burnet, neither of
them actually being nearest to the pin. On
hole 11 Nino was very near to the pin and consequently got his birdie.

5th place with a net 77 off 7

3rd place with a net 76 off 21 hcp – Chris van Bemmelen
2nd place with a net 76 off 15 hcp – Bob Crow, beating Chris on the back 9
1st place with a net 75 off 12 hcp – John Garnett
