Golf & Spa,10 January 2018
This Wednesday, as temperatures were dropping to Spanish winter conditions,
we assembled to play a CL League qualifier of Individual Stableford. 10 tee-times had been booked and were taken
up by 37 members and 2 guests. Our
appreciation and thanks go to those players of the earlier flights who stayed
on for the prize giving despite the considerable waiting time. May we take this
opportunity and remind everyone to respect the allocated playing time as
stipulated by the Club.
The results at the top were very close indeed. The first five places tied with 35 points and
had to be decided by countback on the back 9. Keith came out top scoring 19 points on the
back 9. Congratulations and well played
to him and all the runners up.Also congratulations to Brian Wakely who won John and Jan’s Hidden Holes prize for January. The prize was for the best score on the front 9 and Brian scored an excellent 20 points.
The green of the par 3 hole 14 proved to be a difficult one to reach until Greta arrived, in the last but one flight, and made it her own.
Brian Hines and Santi Hung played their semi-final of the knock-out competition. Like the other semi-final, the match was a very close one and had to be decided on an extra hole. Brian came out top and is now playing Nino in the final.
