Venue: Bonalba
Golf & Spa, 18 April 2018
This Wednesday, Individual Stableford was on the agenda. This was the
last qualifying competition for the 2017/18 Campbell Lamont League. The four
highest scoring members available will represent the Society in the play-offs
in May.
There were some last minute cancellations, but Gordon, who was in charge
of signing-in the players, managed to sort things out in the end which, at
prize giving, was suitably appreciated by our Captain Greta. Unlike last week, we enjoyed some good weather. The strong winds had at last subsideded and the sun was out giving us very pleasant playing conditions.
John and Peter, today’s winner and runner-up, both with 39 points, played an excellent round of golf and with 5 points difference, were well ahead of the other three winners today, who also had to be separated by count-back. It was good to see Pascale representing the Ladies on the winners’ list.
Finally, the Captain drew attention to the new golf rules of “Ready
Golf” and urged everyone to take this rule on board and apply it whenever
possible.
