For those of us who went on the annual Away Trip, this last week has
been a particular busy week of golf. This time our venue was Valle del Este
where we played twice and once at Desert Springs. A big thanks goes to our Captain Greta and
her helpers for their hard work and superb organisation, and all the sponsors
of additional prizes which all made it another very enjoyable trip to remember. We also thank Jean-Jaques for acting as the
“resident photographer” and posting the pictures on our website.
Back at Bonalba, this Wednesday we played Individual Stableford. It turned out to be a day when the course was
there to be conquered. From the 37
members in the competition, two thirds scored 30 points and more. You had to play better than par to be in the
prizes. Helmut and Eric Pages with 36
points could only make 6th place.
Even Jan’s 39 points were not enough to win today. Exceptional play from all the top players and
special congratulations goes to the winner, Jean-Paul, for an excellent 40
points.
We look forward to next week when we will have a special team game with
lunch afterwards to celebrate Keith Preston’s 90th birthday.

were 4 twos today, all on the holes of the front 9. Jan and Bob birdied hole 4 and
Eric Pages and Rob birdied hole 8. They received
the customary golf ball - a costly week for our sponsor, Bob Crow.

3rd place with 38 points off 9 hcp – Nino Andres Aloras, beating Keith on the back 9
2nd place with 39 points off 22 hcp – Jan Boultbee
1st place with 40 off 26 hcp – Jean-Paul Leroux
