This Wednesday we came together for an Individual Stableford competition
which was also a qualifier for the CL League.
With 38 members and 3 guests playing, we had a full house. To shorten waiting
time for the prize giving, 3 flights started from tee 10 which caused a bit of
confusion as to which flight was to collect the Nearest the Pin flags and
consequently the flags on the front 9 par threes where taken away too early for
the players who started from tee 10, so the Captain decided to raffle two prospective
prizes for those three flights.
Today’s competition also included John and
Jan’s Hidden Holes prize. This time they
elected holes 3, 4, 8, 14 and 16 which they considered to be relatively easy
holes. John King scored a very good 14
points but was beaten by Brian Wakely who scored 3 points, or net birdies, on
each of those holes.The course was quite wet today as a result of the thunderstorm yesterday evening but the rain has also been very beneficial for the condition of the fairways and greens.
We are now looking forward to our annual Away Trip from next Friday to
Monday. This year we are staying at Valle del Este Hotel in Almeria, playing their
course and also Desert Springs.

were 2 twos today, on hole 4 from Eric Pages and on hole 8 from Jacky
Bernois. They received the customary
golf ball.

3rd place with 35 points off 12 hcp – Eric Pages, beating Santi on the back 9
