2016: Indiv. Stableford (25.5.)

Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 25th May 2016

This morning the Club House was buzzing with 44 members and 2 guests signing in for today’s Individual Stableford competition.  Luckily our Captain managed to arrange for three flights to go off tee 10 thus reducing the waiting time for the presentation of the prizes.  It was the perfect day for golf, with temperatures of low to mid 20’s and light winds.  This was confirmed by the excellent results posted, in fact 26 out of 46 players came in with 30+ points.  A respectable 34 points would only give you 7th place which today was eligible for a prize as we had two extra sponsors. To be in the top three you had to play under par.
It was the day of the “Johns”.  Three of them were in the prizes. Top man today was John Coubrough, better know as JC.  His 42 points clearly showed that he is now well and truly back on form, after coming third last week. The second John also had an excellent score of 40 which on many other days would have given him first place. It seems that to be at the top today, you needed to have a “24 pointer” like JC had on the front 9 and JR on the back 9. Third place Doris had a more even round with 20 and 18 points respectively.  The third John, our Competition Secretary, also confirmed that his golf is sailing along nicely with another good steady round. We applaud all the winners for their magnificent results.
