This week´s competition was a Team Game where the best 3 Stableford
results counted. Our Captain was in
generous mood today and decided to award additional prizes for the best
Individual Stableford scores for both men and ladies and also for nearest the
pin in two for players with a handicap of 22 and over.
We had a turn-out of 32 members and 2 guests who played as part of the
teams. After some very stormy days, we
enjoyed a wonderful spring day with temperatures reaching the mid 20’s. The lovely
weather conditions helped to produce some excellent results where the team in third
place was 4 points better than par. It
was a closely faught contest but in the end it turned out to be the day of the
Ladies who narrowly beat the last team out who scored an incredible 64 points
on the front 9, which is 10 points over par, but fell back on the back 9
scoring only 50 points. The Ladies
scored 57 and 57 points and therefore won the competition with a better back 9.
Our Captain continued to be in a generous mood when she decided to present Michael with a bottle of wine, deservedly so, as he so narrowly missed out on winning the best Individual Stableford. And did she feel a wee bit sorry for having beaten him on two par 3’s?
Congratulations to all the winners and a HAPPY EASTER to everyone!
