Bill Williams Away Day No. 2
A fairly broad range of results were achieved on this challenging course, with its fast, sloping greens and frequent difficult stances at address. The occasional storms which had been forecast duly arrived early on in proceedings, but they were mercifully short-lived. Nevertheless, those finishing in the top places produced very good scores and went away clutching their well-deserved wines, proud of the points achieved in pursuit of the Bill Williams trophy. Their names and results are outlined below, congratulations to them all.
Your correspondent would like to take the opportunity to add 2 announcements:
(1) In view of the state of the afore-mentioned greens at Bonalba, Greta has decided to alter the next 2 Wednesday tournaments, i.e. next Wednesday June 6th will not be Medal Day (as is usual on the first Wednesday of the month), but will be on the following Wednesday (13th). Instead, Greta will organise a team game this coming week - Chapman Greensomes - details to follow on her weekend blog.
(2) Lady members may like to consult their progress in this year´s newly-established Ladies Championship competition. No surprises to see who are already near the top, but it might help to spur some on to even greater effort in the next few months? You can see the table in Master Scorecard - click on Best-of Series under the main table.
