Spot the Captain |
Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa,
5 September 2018
Today should have been our Monthly Medal competition, but because of
repairs to the course, this is postponed until next week.
Instead we played two competitions simultaneously, one was Individual Stableford,
which, on this occasion, was non-qualifying for handicap purposes. The other
competition was a Putting contest for the least putting strokes executed on the
greens over the 18 holes played. This contest was generously sponsored by one
of our “swallow members”, Mike Turner, to thank the Society for enabling him to
have a enjoyable game of golf when he is in Spain. Our thanks are returned.
There were some very good Stableford scores, with 12 out of 22 members
who played, achieving 33 or more points and the top three coming in with
exceptional scores. Maybe the reason why
so many played well was that everyone concentrated extra hard on their putting. On this occasion, there was the consolation that if you just missed the green, you had the
chance for an easy approach to the flag which again gave you a good chance for just one putt
or even a zero putt if your ball went into the hole from off the green.
At prize giving, Greta as very pleased to announce that the PRESIDENT’S
DAY is back on. For further details see the separate notice on the website.
