Today we went to Alenda Golf. This was one of the qualifying Stableford
competitions for the Bill Williams Away-Day Shield. Alenda is always a popular venue with our
members which showed in the attendance of 36 members and 3 guests. Luckily, the weather yet again turned out to
be better than the forecast was and after a few holes we were able to play in our
pink Society T-shirts.
The overall scores showed that the course played 1 over par, which is
understandable as Alenda is not our home course. Only Stan played better than par and that
even though he came back from his stay in Paris only the night before. There were three scores of 32 and Chris
narrowly beat Doris to 5th place with a better back 6.

It was a week for Holes in One.
Following John Garnett, who had a Hole-in-One on Monday on hole 4 at
Bonalba, Greta had a Hole-in-One on the 13th hole at Alenda. With a distance of 118 m to the front of the
green and the flag positioned fairly near to the front, Greta took a 7
iron. We toasted a delighted Greta with
a glass of Cava to congratulate her on her very first Hole-in-One.
We also take this opportunity to congratulate John for his Hole-in-One
on Monday.

were 4 birdies today and one eagle: Stan on hole 3, Nino on hole 13, Jan and
Peter van der Mee on hole 16 and, of course, the eagle goes to Greta.
