Venue: Bonalba
Golf & Spa, 11 March 2015
Today we played Individual Stableford which was also
the last qualifier for the Campbell Lamont Golf Leagues (formerly the Ford Golf
Leagues). The final result of this can
be viewed shortly by clicking “CL Golf Leagues” on the right hand side of our
website. 35 members and 3 guests turned out ready to play golf in beautiful
spring weather and the course played to par. The greens seemed to be to everyones
liking as there was some excellent putting being observed and one of our very
senior members even had two birdies, one each on one of the short and long par
3’s. But what happened on hole 11? Nobody managed to reach the green. Congratulation goes to the winner, Peter van
der Mee, one of our Dutch members, for an excellent score of 38 points and also
to Jeanine, one his guests, for winning the guest prize with a vey good score
of 33 points.
After prize giving, it was time to say good-bye to
Clive Dresner, our Handicap Secretary, who is moving to Scotland. There had been a collection among the members
and he was presented with a leaving present which included a splendid sketch of
himself drawn by our very own Stephen Grey.
Clive, you will be missed by all of us, but especially by Dennis, your
good pal and golfing partner in many successful competitions in Spain. Needless to say, his farewell speech evoked a
tear or two.
We wish Clive and his wife Jane the very best in their new life in Scotland and hope that they will come back for a visit in the not too distant future.
