Today’s competition was Individual Stableford which qualified for the
Concistency Chart but not for handicap adjustments. We had an attendance of 32 members and 4
guests. In
addition to the usual weekly prizes, we competed also for the monthly prize of
John and Jan’s Hidden Holes and the fun “Beach Pack” sponsored by Jean-Paul and
Pascale who decided to console the player who went into the most bunkers. There
was also an additional prize nearest the pin for the guests but unfortunately
none of our guests made it onto the green of hole 4.
Looking
at the results, it was a very good day of golf for most of us as two thirds
came in with 30 points and more and the winners playing to their handicap and
better. John Brook, today’s winner, apparently had some lessons which obviously
paid off handsomely. Very well played, John and indeed everyone one else on the
leader board. Gordon beat Eric Pages to 5th place with a better back
9, but Eric won the Hidden Holes prize with 12 points from holes 10, 11, 12 and
13 which means he had net birdies on all four holes – Handicap Secretary please
take note! The guest prize was won by François.

Wakely bagged the “Beach Pack”, a consolation that he went into 8 bunkers.
