2018: Indiv.Stableford Red Tees (11.7.)

Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 11 July 2018

On this hot and humid summer’s day, our Captain decided to be kind to the men and shorten the course for them in that they would join the ladies on the red tees to play Individual Stableford on adjusted handicaps for the men.  This was a different challenge for the male players with regard to their club selection and in the quality of their short game.  It was also a trial to find out whether it would reduce the overall playing time as it is important to avoid slow play, especially at certain times of the year when the course is particularly busy.  The overall reaction from the men was positive and a similar format may be adopted on some occasions in the future.  The Ladies struggled today to compete for Nearest the Pin for obvious reasons.
It was a non-qualifying competition for handicap allowance but it qualified for the Consistency Charts. Congratulations to the winner, Nino, who had a gross score of 74 strokes.
The number of cards processed today was 31 which included 1 guest.

It was good to see Jeff Murten playing with us today and we wish him well for his treatment.  It was also nice to say hello to John Webber and we hope he will be back playing golf in the not too distant future.
