Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa,
4 July 2018
Today 32 of us competed for the July Medal and we welcomed one guest who
played Stableford and promptly won the guest prize. Although some of our members have now
returned to the UK to escape the hot summer weather, there was still a good
turnout braving the hot and humid conditions.
No wonder that more of us turned to buggies rather than walk the course,
especially the hills on the back nine.
The top of the leaderboard showed some very competitive results. A net
72 would only be good enough for 5th place and even a 69 could not
secure first place. Richard surpassed
everyone and bagged the July Medal with a score of net 67 and, not surprisingly
had the best overall gross score of 78. Many
congratulations!
Eric Pages narrowly missed out to Graham for 5th place. Their positions of 5th and 6th
place had to be decided on countback over the last 6 holes.
The Garnett/Boultbee household did well on the par 3’s and stocked up
their wine cellar by a further two bottles.
At prize giving, the Captain introduced our newest member, Pascal Guy,
and welcomed him into our Society.
