Today we had our 4th out of 6 Away Days competing for the Bill Williams Away-Day Trophy. We had a later than usual mid-morning start and all eyes were on the skies as there were some very dark clouds covering the top of the Puig Campana mountain. We had timed our rounds perfectly as the last of us caught some heavy rain drops in the car park while putting away our golf gear.
We hadn’t noticed at the first couple of tees but on the subsequent tees, it became clear that on this occasion the yellow tees were ´”blue”. We learned afterwards that the short course Poniente was closed and the Club had arranged the course so to make it more suitable for the Poniente members to play the Levante course.
Looking at the results, it seems that some of our players “slaughtered” the course. A great result from Richard, helped by an Eagle on hole 3. Congratulations! Also congratulations to Christiane for second place. This must be one of your favourite courses, Christiane, as you always do well on Villaitana.
Because of the shortened course, this competition will
not qualify for handicap adjustments but will still qualify for the Away-Day
Trophy and Consistency Chart.
We welcomed back Jim and Kate Hurley from Ireland and
were please to see Jim playing again after his recent months of injury.

There were also two twos today, from Stan Tarabula on hole 4 and James Burnet on hole 7. They received the customary golf ball.
