| Winners with the new Captain |
Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 3rd February 2016
We have a new Captain, Jan Boultbee and today was her
Drive-In. We all had a bet on where her
drive was going to land and as always, Jan hit a wonderful drive straight down
the middle of the fairway. The winner
would be announced at the lunch after the competition.
There was a full turnout for today’s competition which
the ever popular Texas Scramble, but to give it that extra edge, each team member
had to complete 4 drives. We had a very pleasant day with the good weather
still holding and in addition, we were spoiled with some delicious food and
drink before we continued our round on the back 9. The home-made pork pie,
sausage rolls and cakes were very welcome indeed and thanks go to Heather, Ann
and Hilda who were looking after us.Congratulations to the winning team for an excellent score. They were the first team to go out at the early time of 8.24 and kept their “pole position” all the way to the end of the competition.
The prize giving was followed by an excellent lunch at the Bonalba Hotel. During the meal, the winner of the drive-in bet was announced. Keith Preston was the lucky winner of the jackpot. The new Captain took the opportunity to thank everyone who helped her on this first Competition Day of her Captaincy. The members replied by giving her a toast and wishing her all the best for her year of Captaincy.
