SCORECARDS - DO IT PROPERLY, DON'T BE DISQUALIFIED!

I feel it necessary to remind all our players that completing, checking and signing your scorecard is an important duty at the end of a round. In 'Captain's blog' you will see a picture of the way in which we suggest that things should be done correctly.

If you look at any of the cards which I see regularly after the end of our games, it is astonishing to find that every time 30 to 40% of these cards are faulty in some way or another.

If you do not wish to incur the possibility of disqualification for an incorrect card, I (and Richard and Jan) urge you to try to get into the habit of doing things more carefully. It is especially important that you record the score of not only the player whose card it is,  but also your own gross score, underneath, on the same card. This is the only way you can check at the end that you agree with your marker as to what your score is.

Calculating the points (in Stableford) is not strictly necessary but a lot of you know how to do it, so please carry on. The computer will pick up any errors anyway. But you must not make mistakes in recording the gross score for a hole.

Please ask Richard if you need any further clarification.

Thank you, Gordon
