Today's winners at Alicante Golf
We all seemed to struggle to score well today. Only the top 8 of the 29 members starting managed to score 30 points or more and our top scorer Richard Davis came in with 35 points. This is not our usual society scoring profile and was possibly much to do with the very difficult conditions on the greens. The course itself was perfect, as was the weather but the greens were very slow and most of us found it hard to get the ball up to the hole.
We had a two tee start today which allowed us to include our four guests and to gather quickly at the end for the prize giving. However, unfortunately it also meant that there was a lot of waiting on the first tee for those coming around from the 18th. Also there was some confusion over the nearest to the pin markers which is the reason we only have results for the holes on the back nine. The front nine being well meaningly sabotaged. More confusion also reigned with two guests being called Jean Claude. Never mind everything doesn't always go to plan!
Next Wednesday is our President's Day and for those lucky enough to play well prizes will be presented, by Neville at the President's dinner. This is to be held in the restaurant of the Bonalba Golf Club on Saturday 10th June. This is Neville's big day and we hope that everyone will play on Wednesday and support him at this event.
