2019: Texas Scramble (30.1.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 30 January 2019

This Wednesday was the last day of duty for our Captain Greta Biersteker.  We would like to thank her for her dedication and hard work to keep us organized during her year of Captaincy.  That is, not just on Wednesdays at Bonalba, but also on the Away Days and not to forget, the splendidly organized Away Trip last May and her Captain’s Day and Dinner which we all enjoyed to the full.
To see her year out, Greta decided on a team game, a Texas Scramble with four drives each and drops in the rough within one club length.  We had 39 members and 1 guest competing, a good round number making it 10 teams of 4.  The first three places came in with a  very good gross score of par and better.  The third team had a gross score of 72, the second team a gross score of 70 and the winning team excelled with a gross score of 67.  Very well played!

After the prize giving we held our AGM.  This year 2019, we will, unfortunately, be without a Captain, so a few things in the organization of the competitions, like Wednesday morning sign-ins and presentation of prizes, will change.  See details of the Motions proposed.
It also means that this year, we will not have the pleasure of seeing the New Captain’s drive-in, which would have been next week.  Hopefully, the absence of a Captain will be a “one off” situation for the Society and we will be able to fill this post again in the following years.
