2019: Indiv. Stableford (15.5.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 15 May 2019

Today we played Individual Stableford.  It was a qualifier for handicap adjustments and all other Society competitions.  We had a field of 32 members ready to play on this beautiful warm and sunny May morning.

There were also some newcomers from the duck house.  It is not sure if they wanted to enrol or had lost their way and were looking for the pond.  




With a little help from Richard, they were pointed in the right direction.

The outstanding result today came from Jean-Louis who was the winner with 42 points followed by the rest of the field scoring to par and better.  Mo managed to beat Richard and Santi to fifth place on count back of the back 9.  Many congratulations to Jean-Louis and everyone else on the winners’ board.

Today we had the additional prize sponsored by Jan and John for hidden holes.  They had selected one par 3, one par 4 and one par 5 and chose holes 11, 17 and 5 respectively.  Well done, Michael, the winner of this prize for a magnificent total score of 10 points.

We are now looking forward to Friday, the start of our 3-day annual Away Trip to Alcázares on the Mar Menor, playing the courses of La Roda and La Romero.

Hidden Holes :  Michael Davison with 3 points on hole 5, 4 points on holes 11 and 3 points on hole 17, totalling 10 points.

There was also 4 twos today, from Santi on hole 8, Michael and Johnny G on hole 11 and Jean-Louis on hole 14.  They all received the customary golf ball.                                    

The results of the main competition were:

5^th place with 36 points off 33 hcp – Moe Farouky

4^th place with 37 points off 14 hcp – Eddy Fagg

3^rd place with 37 points off 32 hcp – Ray Prudhoe, beating Eddy on the back 9

2^nd place with 38 points off 9 hcp  –  John Garnett

1^st place with 42 points off 21 hcp – Jean-Louis Mouchebeouf
