2019: Indiv. Stableford (22.5.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 22 May 2019

Today we played Individual Stableford which qualified for the Society competitions but not for handicap purposes. It was a warm and fairly sunny morning with the weather improving even more as the day went on. The attendance today was 35 members and one guest.
Some of us who went on our annual Away Trip over the weekend were still in recovery mode from the three days of solid golf and also had to deal with the speed of the greens, leaving many of the putts short.  However, Tony, today’s winner had no problems in adjusting from the trip, scoring an excellent 41 points.  Ray, who also had been on the Away Trip, also had a good result today.  In fact, both Tony and Ray continued where they left off at La Roda, as, on the Away Trip, they had scored the two best overall results in the male category.  Not to forget David, Helmut and Nino, the other players on today’s winners’ board with very good rounds. Everyone played better than their net par.  Congratulations to the top five for an excellent round of golf.

Today we also had the presentation of the bi-monthly Champagne Challenge for April/May, generously sponsored by Stan and Christiane Tarabula.  Congratulations to Greta, the winner of Division 1 and Doris, the winner of Division 2.

Our thanks goes to Brian Wakely who was on rota duty this week.
