2020: Away Day (14.10.) and Indiv. Stableford (21.10.)

The Winning Teams at Font del Lllop

Last week we were fortunate to have an Away Day, despite the Corona restrictions, generously sponsored Bill Williams.  We had a good turn-out of 25 members and 2 guests.  The course was in very good condition and the greens played very fast which made the putting speed challenging at times.

The Individual Winners

There was only one point difference between the winning and runner-up team.  Both had excellent scores, playing 13 and 12 points over par.  Our special congratulations go to Pascale Leroux who has set a Society Record with her net score of 49 points.

The Captain wanted to celebrate this first Away Day of the year and decided to award more prizes than usual.  We played a team game of 3-best Stableford scores and, in addition, there were prizes for best the overall individual winner, leading man and

leading lady and five nearest the pins.

Nearest the pins:

Hole 3             Robert Heyens, who putted in for a two.

Overall individual winner:        Pascale Leroux with 49 points off 28 hcp

Leading man:                          John Webber with 35 points off 24

Leading lady:                           Marie-Jo Lesot with 36 points off 26

The Winners on 21 October

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 21.10.2020

Back at Bonalba, the competition was Individual Stableford, with 30 members and 2 guests.  After golf, we had the prize presentation for last week and this week on the club terrace.  The Captain also introduced two new members to our Society, Paul and Ernst, see separate information.

 

The competition results were as follows:

There were no nearest the pins prizes today, but there were 2 twos, from Pascale on hole 8 and from Ernst on hole 11.  Both received the customary golf ball.

 

The main competition results were:

5^th place with 36 points off 9 hcp – Greta Biersteker

4^th place with 38 points off 27 hcp – Marie-Jo Lesot

3^rd place with 38 points off 27 hcp  – Robert Heyens, with a better back 9

2^nd place with 39 points off 18 hcp – our new member Ernst Stecher

1^st place with 41 points of 29 hcp  – Pascale Leroux
