It was an emotional occasion as members and their families came together on the Club terrace to say farewell to Neville and Sandra who have decided to return to the UK for health reasons.
Neville and Sandra have been founder members of our Society, 25 years ago and have been helping with the running of the society ever since. On his 80th birthday, Neville was made an Honorary Life Member of the Society. He served on the Committee for 23 years, of which he was Captain in 1997, Treasurer from 1998 to 2016 and President 2016 to 2018. Only because of health reasons he reluctantly had to resign his Presidency.
Sandra, in her previous role of Social Secretary, had organised many enjoyable events away from golf which are remembered with great affection by the “older guard” of our members. In recent times, Sandra has been well known for her delicious cakes which she made for us to enjoy during half-way house on special occasions, birthdays and other events. She even produced a variety of tasty cakes on this, their own farewell party.
Dear Neville and Sandra, on behalf of all the members of the Costa Blanca Golf Society, I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation for your hard work and dedication in serving the membership of our Society and wish you the very best for your life with your family in the UK. For the Society it is the end of an era. You will be sorely missed.
