2020: Captain's Day (11.11.)

Today 29 of our members and 3 guests attended Graham’s Captains Day.  Although there were many restrictions because of the Corona virus, we were thankful that those of us who were here, could compete at all.  We were not able to put on the traditional Half-Way House and, unfortunately, the Captain’s Dinner also had to be cancelled.  However, Graham and his helpers made it a very enjoyable day for all of us, where everyone went away with something, either a prize or a present.

At signing-in, we also received a “lunch box”, instead of the half-way house, with delicious savouries and cakes, made by Heather, Sandra, Christiane and Hazel.

 

We all appreciated very much the hard work that Graham and his helpers put in to make this day so special and would like to say a big thank-you to all of them.

Graham even managed to have the weather gods on his side, as we were able to play in our shirt sleeves and enjoyed the prize giving and lunch in the sunshine on the club terrace.

 

There were some excellent scores at the top but the honours went to StanTarabula, who lifted the Captain’s Trophy, 16 years after his first win.  Well played and many congratulations.

The results of the Captain’s Trophy were:

5^th place with 36 points off 31 hcp – Luc Verhaegen

4^th place with 36 points off 11 hcp – Richard Davis, with a better back 9

3^rd place with 38 points off 16 hcp  – Eddy Fagg

2^nd place with 40 points off 18 hcp – Edi Rogers

1^st place with 41 points off 22 hcp  – Stan Tarabula
