Today we celebrated a belated St. Patrick’s Day, a yearly competition sponsored very generously by our Irish friends, Jim and Kate Hurley.
As always, it was a fun day with nearly a full house of 38 players, 31 members and 7 guests. The format was Individual Stableford, which also qualified for all Society competitions and handicap adjustments.
The weather seemed to have turned the corner with hopefully the rainy days now a thing of the past and we enjoyed prize giving on the terrace in lovely sunshine and with a glass of cava, with compliments of Jim and Kate.
After prize giving we went to the new restaurant on Bonalba, “The Loft”, for a lunch that had originally been planned for last week after Medal play, but had been cancelled due to bad weather. 42 members and guests attended the lunch, some on the terrace and some inside. Everybody was in good spirits and the people on the terrace wondered what was going on inside – apparently the two tables staged some sort of singing competition.
