On this first Wednesday of the month we played the July Medal. It qualified for all Society competitions and also handicap adjustments.
19 members took part, of which there were 13 members of the 1st Division and only 6 of the 2nd Division. So, on this occasion, the lower handicapped players had a harder time to be in the winners’ enclosure.
Congratulations to all the winners, and a special congratulations to Michael who had the best overall gross score of an impressive 82 strokes.
Unfortunately, there was no photo taken of today's winners. Instead, there is a memory of the July Medal 5 years ago.
After prize giving, some of us stayed behind to take advantage of the Club Restaurant’s new offer of 2 tapas and a drink for €5. This was very well received and is highly recommended.
For next week, the Captain is arranging a Texas Scramble which is an ideal format for playing in these high summer temperatures.

There were 2 twos today, with both John and Michael putting in from being nearest to the pin.

2nd place with a net 68 off 23 hcp – Tony Dewavrin
1st place with a net 67 off 15 hcp – Michael Davison
2nd Division:
2nd place with a net 79 off 32 hcp – Moe Farouky
1st place with a net 73 off 20 hcp (playing off the blue tees) – Maurice Buol
