Today we played the January Medal Maximum Score which qualified for all Society competitions and also handicap adjustments. This was the last Medal competition for the 2022 season and all the annual prizes will be presented on the last Wednesday in January 2023.
Quite a few members were still away on their Christmas holidays, so we only had 17 members in the competition, plus one guest. This year, the weather during the Christmas period has been pleasantly warm and sunny and it continued this Wednesday – perfect golfing conditions.
Unfortunately, there was a mistake in calculating the scores in Division 1. Apologies to Brian Hines who was declared the winner but on re-count, he actually was third. A small consolation is his nearest the pin on hole 14. Also, apologies to Tony Dewavrin and John Garnett who, in fact, were first and second.
Well done to Helmut for his accuracy on the par 3’s, being nearest on 3 out of 4 holes.
The Captain told us that Marcel had been taken ill over the Christmas holidays. Luckily he is on the road to recovery. We send him our best wishes and hope that we will see him back at golf very soon.
