Today we played an Individual Stableford competition which was a qualifier for all Society competitions and handicap adjustments.
It was also the final of the Winter Cava Challenge sponsored by Stan and Christiane Tarabula.
The results were respectable, considering the weather conditions, a typical day in Spain in February, a bit cold, but luckily the rain stayed away until we had finished our rounds.
Congratulations to the winners and runners-up Michael, Trish, John and Pascale. The runners-up in both Divisions had to be determined by countback on the back 9. So, Jan and Doris unfortunately missed out.
It was good to welcome back Graham Sutton after an absence of nearly three months, staying with his family “down under”, and also to James Burnett who, for quite a while, had been unable to join our Wednesday games.
Finally, the Captain reminded everyone of the AWAY TRIP at the end of May and to contact Brian Wakely, who is helping with the organisation, if they want to take part. We need to have reasonable numbers to be able to go ahead with the trip.
The summary of today’s competition is as follows:
Best 9 front or back – with 20 points Jan Boultbee and Robert Heyens on the front 9, and James Burnett on the back 9. They were all awarded with a golf ball sponsored by Bob Crow.
