Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 30.4.25
Today’s competition was sponsored by our Dutch friends Marcel Barink and Marko van den Berg, to celebrate “Koningsdag” (King’s Day) which is an important festivity in Holland. 27 players took part in this fun format of “Last Man (or Woman) Standing” where everybody played off scratch and indicated how far they got on the course by marking it with their orange flag.
The first flag was put down on the tee of the 15th hole and the majority of the flags were placed on the 17thhole. Karen, the overall winner, was on the 18th green, one short putt away from the hole.
Everybody entered into the spirit of the day by wearing the Dutch national colour of orange and we all enjoyed the magnificent orange decorations on the club terrace.
We were also treated to a Half Way House, thanks to Andrea and Ellen, the wives of Marcel and Marko.
Prior to prize giving we were treated to a celebratory sparkling cocktail. There were plenty of prizes and also a raffle of popular Dutch goodies.
We toasted and gave a vote of thanks to Marcel and Marko for their great effort and generosity in making this a truly memorable competition.
