2026: St. Patrick's Day Competition (18.3.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa

 

This Wednesday we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, a yearly competition sponsored very generously by our Irish friends, Jim and Kate Hurley. 

 

As always, it was a fun day enjoyed by 31 members and 5 guests.  The format was a qualifying Individual Stableford.  There were lots of prizes.  The main competition counted for members only, but the other prizes were open to everyone.

 

A special mention goes to Jean-Jaques Lavergne who achieved nearest the pin on hole 14, one of the longer par 3’s, which was no mean feast, considering his proud age of 89, beating all the “youngster” in the competition.

 

The weather was kind to us. We enjoyed nice temperatures and sitting in the sun by the food trucks after golf and before heading to the Bonalba Hotel for the presentation lunch.

 

At the prize giving, Jim and Kate made a special mention and presented a bottle of champagne to one of our Society’s long-standing members and previous Captain, Graham Sutton, who recently celebrated his 80^thbirthday.

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Graham. You don’t look a day over ……. (the number is up to everyone  )
