2016: Monthly Medal (10.2.)

Wednesday February10th 2016 :  Monthly Medal

Today's top 5. Bob Crow was this month's Medal winner.
The first Medal tournament of our new society year saw 39 players take to the course on a windy but bright February morning. Despite the strong wind it was pleasing to see that quite a number of members produced net scores not too far away from par. Bob Crow, with a net 72 (just beating Keith Preston on countback) was the overall winner. Bob, who recently had a replacement hip operation, was obviously delighted to be once again back in the winner's circle, so well done to him. However, special mention should also be made of Keith's low round because he too has to go into hospital for a knee operation next week.  Presumably these two bionic men are going to remain hard to beat in future!

Richard Davis, John Webber and Michael Davison completed the top 5 places with very creditable scores in the low to mid 70s.

Rather unfortunately two of our members fell ill during the round, but we are very pleased to hear that Franco and Mo have since made good recoveries. Our best wishes, too, go to John Brooks who had to withdraw the previous evening.

Today's main results were:
5th place: net score 75, off a handicap of 10, Michael Davision
4th place: net score 74, off a handicap of 18, John Webber
3rd place: net score 74 (better countback), off a handicap of 9, Richard Davis
