Venue: Bonalba
Golf & Spa, 29 March 2017
There was a lot of chopping and changing on the list
of tee-times prior to our competition today and we must thank our Captain for
his efforts to keep everything running smoothly. The final number of players came to 32
members and 4 guests and the format was Individual Stableford. Congratulations to Noel, one of our regular
guests, for winning the guest prize, beating Jeanine on the back 9.
Spring was in the air today and everybody’s spirits were
uplifted which was reflected in the many good scores. Over half of all players
posted 30 points and more. A respectable 34 points only made it to fifth
place. Well done to all the winning
places and especially to Peter van der Mee for coming top with an excellent 39
points but his partner Greta was not far behind. It was Nino’s day for “flying high”. Not only did he get a Birdie on the 14th hole, the shot of the day was his second shot on hole 6 which went straight into the hole and awarded him an Eagle! We marvel at your accuracy, Nino!
Today we also had the extra prize of Jan & John’s Hidden Hole. This time they selected the best total score of holes 5, 7, 13 and 17 which John considers to be the most difficult holes. Michael, who narrowly missed out on the main prizes as he was beaten by Bob on the back nine for 5th place, was the winner of the Hidden Holes with 11 points.
Next week after Medal Play there will be a lunch at
the Bonalba Club Restaurant which is under new management.
