It was warm and sunny today and 33 members and 4 guests played in the April medal. Gordon, our Captain, had arranged a meal afterwards in the Bonalba club house. 35 of us stayed to enjoy a variety of lovely dishes provided by our new chef. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, drink and ambiance.
As always in a medal there is the added pressure of counting every shot. Not getting out of bunkers, sending balls into the lakes and hitting out of bounds ruined many of our scores as can be seen from the results on the 'masterscoreboard'. Indeed, nearly half of the field returned net scores of 80 or more. However, our newest member and lowest handicapper, Nino junior had none of these problems. He played one under par, had the lowest gross score, birdied the final four holes and off his handicap of 1 returned a net 71. What wonderful golf. The kind most of us can only dream about!
We welcomed Dennis back today. He returned to play with us after recovering from a spell of ill health and he was immediately into his usual winning ways. He won nearest the pin on the 8th hole and made the only 2 of the day.
