Well done, Helmut ! |
Venue:
Bonalba Golf & Spa, 7 November 2018
Today we had one of the highlights of the
year. It was Captain’s Day and the sun
was shining. So was Greta, as she handed
us our scorecards containing a long list of special prizes. We had maximum attendance of 41 members and 7
guests all eager to secure a win.
An added bonus on the day was the half-way house. Thank you Sandra, Heather, Hilda, Hazel and
Marleen for making and serving us with some delicious savories and cakes. It
gave us the extra energy to tackle the back 9.
Although the results were not announced until
the following Saturday at the Captain’s Dinner, rumour had it that the best
score was definitely higher than par.
The winning score turned out to be 40 points. Many congratulations go to
Helmut Treiber for this impressive result.
Jean-Paul was following closely with 39 points and he also bagged 2
Nearest the Pin prizes. In fact, the
Leroux family did very well, as his wife, Pascale, was the best lady player of
the day and also had the straightest drive.
There
was a magnificent turn-out for the Captain’s Dinner the following Saturday at
the Hotel Bonalba. Thank you Greta and Peter for arranging a most enjoyable
evening with good food and wine, good music and a very good raffle.
