2019: Indiv. Stableford SQ (13.3.)

Andrea, Chris, Kate, Jean-Jacque and Bob
Congratulatiosn!

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 13 March 2019

This week we played Individual Stableford. We had an attendance of 42 members and 1 guest.  Two flights went off tee 10, which meant that the overall playing time and the waiting time to prize giving was slightly reduced.  However, those members who went out early and did not have any pressing matters to attend to, were able to enjoy socializing with fellow players on the terrace of the club house in beautiful spring weather.
The competition was qualifying for ongoing competitions but not for handicap purposes.  Maybe, because of that, there was slightly less stress and swings were flowing well.  The top scores were above average, to say the least.  The best 6 scores ranged from 37 to 43 points.  Gay missed out narrowly on a prize to Bob who played a better back 9.  Applause and congratulations to all the prize winners and a special mention of Jean-Jacque, the overall winner, for an outstanding result.  Although this was a non-qualifying round for handicap purposes, you can still ask the Handicap Secretary to cut your handicap accordingly!

This week, Jan was on rota duty. Thank you Jan for your efficient organization of the day.  We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Richard for dealing with the scorecards week after week in order to give us the results very shortly after the last cards are handed in and in doing so, he is hardly ever able to join us on the terrace for a drink and a chat.

Our President reminded us that next week will be the St. Patrick’s Day competition sponsored by Jim and Kate Hurley who have requested that we honour this day by wearing something GREEN.
He also informed us that he has posted an attendance list for the 25th Anniversary Dinner on the Notice Board in the Club House.
