Some of today's winners |
Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 27 February 2019
This week we had a team game devised by Greta. She brought the dance floor to the golf course and
decided on a game called “1,2,3 The Waltz”.
The team score on each hole consisted of the Stableford score of the
nominated player on that hole which was multiplied by either 1, 2 or 3 plus the
best Stableford score of one of the other players in the team. If this sounds a bit complicated, Greta is to
be complemented on how she prepared the cards, which made it easy to keep the
scores on each hole. The par score was
108 points, which consisted of 6 x 4, 6 x 6 and 6 x 8 points. Congratulation to the winning team who played
to par, 2 points ahead of the team in second place.
It was another strong turn-out of 44 players. Fortunately, we were able to have an extra
tee-time to our normal 10 spots and in an effort to shorten the waiting time to
prize giving and the lunch afterwards, two teams went from hole 10 and one from
hole 18.
This was the first month in the new Society year where we were awarding the
main prizes for the whole month rather than the weekly prize giving. So there were quite a few prizes to give out
to all the winners, as detailed in the weekly reports on our website. In addition, Jan revealed the winners of the
hidden holes. Our congratulations for
that go to Chris and Bemmelen and Graham Sutton with 9 points each.
A thank-you also goes to Graham Sutton, who was on rota duty today.
After prize giving, we had a very enjoyable lunch at the restaurant Els
Foguers de Pablo in Campello.
