Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 17 April
2019
Coming up to Easter, a number of our members are
away and therefore the attendance was lower than of late. We had 28 members this Wednesday playing an
Individual Stableford competition, which also qualified for handicap
purposes. The weather was a little
chillier than last week but still good enough for us to have an enjoyable round
of golf.
Some of our players who teed off early and came in
with good results, might have fancied their chances of being today’s winner
until the last 4-ball arrived back and posted the best scores of the day. John, whose handicap has recently been going
down, came in with a very good 39 points.
However, the player of the day
undoubtedly was Helmut who experienced one of those days in golf when
everything comes together and he ended up with a magnificent 44 points. Many congratulations!
Today, there was also the monthly prize for Hidden
Holes sponsored by John and Jan. This
time they selected the best back 9. This
prize was for someone who was not in the main prizes and the winner was a
delighted Sandra.
John Garnett also organized today’s competition and
presented the prizes, two of which belonged to him. Well done, John!
Finally, we hope that Brian Wakely is recovering
well from the black eye he received on hole 3 when the ball he was playing in
full force, ricocheted off a nearby tree and hit him just above his eyes. Luckily, he managed to get up on his feet and
continued playing.
With our Away Trip approaching fast, please note
that we have room for one more player. Please contact Doris, if you are
interested.
