MONTHLY MEDAL RESULTS (AND MAY CHANGES)

Didn't they do well! |
A special mention has to go to the overall winner, Keith Preston who, now into his nineties, is still burning up the course, defying the years with his straight swing and accurate play around the greens.
68 was a great net score, so very many congratulations to him on this wonderful result.
Other business:
(1) Changes to the May schedule
The President announced some changes to the calendar, so here is the information:
Wednesday May 1st will now be a Stableford Competition (non-qualifying except for society competitions), and not a Medal. The Medal will be postponed until the following Wednesday (8th May.) However, because May1st is a public holiday Bonalba cannot give us tee times in the morning so we will be playing in the afternoon starting around 1p.m. You will soon be able to sign up for this online, so please note the later start.
The reason behind this change is to provide us with the opportunity to give out prizes (probably including some additional ones) at the Gala Evening two days later. You have to be at the dinner to get your prize!😀
(2) Champagne Stableford Competition (April/May)
There are 5 Stableford tournaments in April and May, and we have decided to take the total of the best 4 scores achieved in this period to qualify for the prize - remember this is a bottle of Champagne from Stan and Christiane to the winners of division 1 (lower handicaps) and division 2 (higher handicaps).
What with the usual competitions in May, a Gala Dinner, an Away Trip, and an Away Day to La Galiana we're going to be very busy! But we should be very happy that we're doing so much of what we love to do - playing golf, sometimes well, sometimes ...
