2019: Monthly Medal (8.5.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 8 May 2019

After last week’s celebratory Stableford, the Monthly Medal competition was moved to this Wednesday.  We had a good turnout of 34 members and on this occasion there were no guests playing.  The medal format was Double Par Maximum Score, which took off the stress of having to play out “to the bitter end”.  Our winners today obviously did not seem to feel any stress as the results were exceptional.  It is not often that we see a net score of 67.  Today we saw three of them and James  was not far behind with a 68.  When the results were announced, in reverse order, and the fifth place came in with a net par of 72, we knew we were in for some very good scores.  Congratulations to Erik, Nino, Edi, James and Pascal!
The overall scores were also quite respectable with half of us managing scores below a net 80.

Not only did we have some high scoring, the weather also recorded the highest temperatures so far this year.  Although there was only hazy sunshine, the temperatures reached 28 deg C with fairly high humidity, reminding us that the summer is not very far away.

Finally, a thanks goes to Brian Hines who was on duty rota for this Wednesday.

4^th place with a net 68 off 19 hcp – James Burnet

3^rd place with a net 67 off 11 hcp – Edi Rogers

2^nd place with a net 67 off 8 hcp  –  Nino Andres Aloras, beating Edi on the back 9

1^st place with 67 off 11 hcp – Erik Paesmans, again with a better back 9.
