Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 4 September
2019
Today
we played Individual Stableford, which qualified for handicap adjustments and
all other Society competitions. Tody’s
competition was in place of the Monthly Medal which will be played next
week. Medal play was postponed, as
originally this week was allocated for hollow tining of the course. With 25 members playing, we still had a
reduced field, as a number of members have not yet returned from their summer
break.
The
yellow tees were in a forward position today, which may have helped to achieve overall
exceptional scoring. This was topped by
the first five places which were all well above par. So, some players can look forward to a
serious cut of their handicap. Congratulations
to everyone on the winners’ podium, and especially to Helmut in first place
with 43 points.
Unfortunately,
37 points did not even get you into the prizes today, which meant that Eddy
Fagg, Jean-Charles Colini and Dave Tomlins missed out.
On a
more personal note, Jean-Paul and Pascale announced that their daughter has had
twin boys and made them grandparents for the first time. Also, Tony and Heidi became grandparents for
the second time. So, after prize giving,
the proud grandparents invited us all to a glass of champagne to celebrate the
new editions to their families.
There
was another pleasant surprise when Angel announced that he is going to get
married next April and that everyone was invited. Details to be announced nearer the date.
