Stableford winners, but Jean-Paul, il n'est pas là |
Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 23 October
2019
Today we played the first round of the Singles
Knock-out Matchplay competition. For this competition
we were playing off the regulation tees, except for holes 9 and 16 where we
used the tees of the day, as on these two holes the regulation tees were not
playable. There were 11 matches in total and the results of most of them were
decided on the last hole or so, and some even went to play-off on holes 10 and
18. The second round will have to be completed
by mid November. Next week we will be
playing the first round of the Doubles Knock-out. All details are on Master Scoreboard.
We thank Jan Boultbee, our Competition Secretary,
for her excellent work in organising these two competitions.
There were 10 members and one guest who did not
take part in the knock-outs. They were
playing non-qualifying Individual Stableford and competed for the best three
places.
Again, we were lucky with the weather, as there had
been some more heavy rainfalls in the area. But, although the course was quite
wet and no buggies were allowed on the fairways, we were able to hold our
competition and as the morning went on, the sun came through the clouds giving
us that extra bit of warmth.
