2019: Monthly Medal (6.11.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 6 November 2019

Today, on the first Wednesday of the month, we competed for the Monthly Medal.  The format was Double Par Maximum.  There were 26 members competing and, in addition, Santi and Jean-Louis, and Graham and Luc played the second round of their Singles Matchplay.  Results of all Matchplay rounds can be seen on Master Scoreboard. We also welcomed two guests, Dennis and Tom.  It was good to see Dennis back, a former longstanding member, and to see him play golf again.

The leading scores today were quite bunched up. First and second place had to be decided on countback, so did the third and fourth place.  Also there were 3 contenders for fifth place. Unfortunately, Martine and Eddy Fagg missed out.  Interestingly, the birdies on the par 3’s were scored by players other than the ones who came nearest to the pin.

We thank Bob Crow who was on duty rota today and, among other things, was dishing out his sponsored golf balls to the members of the “Twos Club”.

The 3 twos today went to Marcel Barink on hole 8 and to Rob Ritchie on holes 8 and 14.

4^th place with a net 75 off 16 hcp – Edi Rogers

3^rd place with a net 75 off 22 hcp – Jan Boultbee, with a better back 9

2^nd place with a net 71 off 32 hcp –  Ray Prudhoe

1^st place with a net 71 off 5 hcp – Rob Ritchie, with a better back 9
