2019: Christmas Texas Scramble (18.12.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 18 December 2019

This Wednesday we were getting into the Christmas spirit.  There were 29 members and one guest and everyone bought a gift which was exchanged at prize giving.  So, everyone was a winner today.  Gordon decided to go Biblical with the chosing of the presents, the last shall be the first.  The team who came last, had first choice of the presents.
We played a Texas Scramble where each player in the team had to do four drives.  The weather was very pleasant.  A white Christmas was certainly not on the horizon which was just as well when playing golf.  Many thanks to Greta who organised today’s game.

After golf, we headed for the “Taberna La Candelaria” in El Campello for our traditional meal before Christmas where were we joined by friends and family.  It was a jolly occasion with plenty of good food and wine.  Many thanks to Gordon, our President, finding this, for us, new venue, and making all the arrangements.  The restaurant menu did not include a dessert, but no worries.  We are very fortunate to have some amazing cooks in our midst.  To our delight, Sanda Woodfine and Heather Davison provided a range of desserts which rounded up our meal in style.  A big thank you to both for not only making the delicious sweets but they were doing this out of their own pockets, a very generous gesture and well appreciated.
