2020: Away Day Font del Llop (15.1.)

This was our last Away Day of the 2019 season which will end with the Annual Prize Presentation on the 22nd and the AGM on 29th January.  25 members and 2 guests took advantage of playing Font del Llop, a course which is not very long but quite tricky with sloping fairways and undulating greens.
On this occasion, the Ladies dominated the winners’ board, with Richard representing the Men.  His accurate drives on the par 3’s will have helped for him to finish with an excellent score of 38 points.  He had birdies on all of his three nearest the pins.  In fact, two of them were so close that he was unlucky not to get a hole-in-one.

There was an abundance of birdies today, 6 in all: from Richard on hole 8, from Richard and John Garnett on hole 12, from Gordon a chip-in on hole 16 and from Richard and Michel Le Borgne on hole 17.  They all received the customary golf, thus substantially reducing the stock of sponsored balls.  Bob Crow, please note.

The results of the main competition were:

5^th place with 36 points off 25 hcp – Pascale Leroux

4^th place with 36 points off 28 hcp – Doris Shearman-Earp, beating Pascale on the back 9

3^rd place with 37 points off 23 hcp – Anne Brook

2^nd place with 38 points off 11 hcp – Richard Davis

1^st place with 39 points off 24 hcp  – Marie-Jo Lesot
