Some of the winners |
Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 23. and 30.9.2020
Today we had a prize presentation for the last two competitions.
On both days we played Individual Stableford with 23 and 26 cards respectively being processed. Since our handicaps were adjusted to the Worldwide Handicap system, the average scoring has been noticeably higher than before. All the top scores have been above par, especially on the 30th, where the three best results were 40 points and above. Congratulations to all the winners. A special mention to Keith Preston, our nonagenarian, who came in with 42 points and who is a real inspiration to us all.
On the 16th we sadly said good-bye to John Garnett and Jan Boultbee, who had decided to return to the UK for various reasons in these uncertain times. They have both been mainstays of our Society, especially also Jan who, as one of our Captains
In the past, Captain of the League Team and a Committee member for a number of years, had been working hard to help with the running of our Society. Jan and John will be sorely missed and we hope that they may be able to return to Spain at some time in the future.
Finally, many congratulations to Doris who had a hole-in-one last weekend while playing in the Bonalba Anniversary Competition. It was on hole 8 and the flag was at the back, on the left. She took a 5 wood.
