2020: Indiv. Stableford (16.12.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 16.12.2020

 

This week 25 members played Individual Stableford, qualifying for all Society Competitions.  It was also the last round in the Bonalba WHS Series.

There were 4 results of 35 points, from Edi Rogers, Helmut Treiber, Robert Heynes and Edi Rogers, but Richard had the best score on the back 9, and was we were, according to the rules of attendance, presenting 4 prizes today, Richard went away with the bottle of wine.  Special congratulations to our Captain Graham, who was the overall winner.

Happy Christmas to everyone

 Under normal circumstances, this Wednesday would have been Christmas Present Day, but the Committee decided that this year, under the corona restrictions, it was wiser to do without.  Instead, after prize giving, we raised a glass of Cava, with compliments from the Society, wishing everyone the best possible Christmas, under these difficult circumstances.

Some of our members are going away for the Christmas period, so next week we are playing with reduced numbers. 

 

As the WHS Series has finished for the time being, we need to make different arrangements to book tee-times which means that we need to book a week in advance. Therefore, the Captain urged everyone to put their names down on Master Scoreboard as soon in advance as possible.

 

The summary of the results are as follows:

Hole 4      (hcp 22+)         nobody

Hole 8.     (hcp 22+)         Brian Hines

Hole 11    (hcp 0-21)        Eddy Fagg

Hole 14    (hcp 0-21).       Erik Paesmans

In addition, Brian Hines also had a 2 on hole 14 and received the customary golf ball.

 

The main competition results were:

5^th place with 35 points off 16 hcp – Helmut Treiber

4^th place with 35 points off 11 hcp – Richard Davis

3^rd place with 37 points off 23 hcp  – James Burnet

2^nd place with 37 points off 17 hcp – Bob Crow, beating James on the last 6 holes

1^st place with 38 points off 30 hcp  – Graham Sutton
