This Wednesday, two days before Christmas, we played a “relaxing” Texas Scramble. The only stress factor was that each player had to complete 4 drives, and the decision making which went with that. Do we go with the tempting drive by a player who already had three drives or go with maybe a shorter drive by someone who has only had one drive and risk a bogey?
We had 23 players which meant that one team consisted of only 3 players. They received a combined handicap of 15% instead of the 10% for 4-balls.
The weather was great, allowing us to assemble on the club terrace for an enjoyable prize presentation. The joy was even greater for those of us who were not on the winners’ board, as the ever generous Captain had decided that it was Christmas and everyone present should go away with a gift. Thank you, Captain!
