2019: Indiv. Stableford Q (26.6.)

Venue:  Bonalba Golf & Spa, 26 June 2019

Today we played Individual Stableford which qualified for all competitions, including  handicap adjustments. There were 33 members and 4 guests. Under the rules of the Society, guests cannot take part in the normal Society prizes but are competing for the guest prize, provided there is a minimum of 3 guests playing.

Hot and humid conditions did not deter people in posting some very good scores.  Playing to par was just good enough to see you in the prizes.  Brian Hines, whose recent good form continued scoring 36 points, lost out on a place in the first 5 to Stan who had a better back 9.  Brian Wakely with 40 points, had good reasons to fancy his chances of coming first but did not count on Nino who played a round of golf to be remembered.  His gross score was 68, helped by 7 birdies  and which gave him a Stableford score of 46.  Many congratulation to Nino and also to Brian, Richard, Eric and Stan.

Keith, our nonagenarian, scoring a really good par last week, came up with another “belter”.  This time on hole 16 which he birdied with the second shot on to the green and one very good putt, giving him 5 Stableford points.
The par 3 hole 11, with the flag near the front, was an inviting target for birdies. It saw 4 of them.

Our thanks goes to Eric Pages who was on rota duty this week.
