On this Wednesday, we had 20 members and one guest competing in an Individual Stableford competition which counted as Society qualifier. As in previous weeks, the members who are registered with the Spanish Golf Federation also completed a card as part of the “Bonalba W.H.S. Series” which counts for the official Worldwide Handicap. There will be two more competitions in this Series.
There were some very good scores, with the first five playing to their handicap and above. Greta and Jean-Charles Collini, both with 35 points, were only 1 point off par. But special congratulations to Chris and Santi, both for their outstanding score of 40 points.
As we are playing under Corona conditions, flags are not allowed to be handled. This also applies to markers for Nearest the Pin. Today we tried to overcome this regulation and we came up with the concept that one person in each flight had a tape measure to record the distance of any ball that landed on the green. This seemed to work very well, except some were measured in inches and others in centimetres. In future competitions, please everyone note that, we are metric, so please measure in centimetres (the side of the tape with the big numbers).
The Captain decided to keep the Nearest the Pin results secret, but all will be revealed next week when there will be a prize presentation. Please look out for details of the presentation which will be announced on the blog, together with the tee-times.

5th place with 36 points off 18 hcp – Edi Rogers
4th place with 36 points off 11hcp – Richard Davis, with a better back 9
3rd place with 37 points off 31 hcp – Luc Verhaegen
2nd place with 40 points off 25 hcp – Santi Hung
1st place with 40 points of 24 hcp – Chris van Bemmelen, with a better back 9

Tony Dewavrin on hole 14. He will receive the customary golf ball.
